主に喉頭科学、頭頸部外科学を対象とした研究

臨床
・頭頚部癌に対する「喉頭機能温存」「低侵襲」を目標とした手術治療の開発
　経口的咽喉頭腫瘍切除術（TOVSやTLM）や喉頭部分切除術（喉頭亜全摘術（SCPL–CHEP）など）、頭頸部センチネルリンパ節などの臨床研究を行う。
・反回神経麻痺に対する新しい声帯内注入術
　リン酸カルシウム骨ペースト注入術
・CO２レーザーを用いた外来日帰り内視鏡下咽喉頭手術
・唾液腺管内視鏡を用いた低侵襲手術　など

基礎
・反回神経障害に対する新しい治療法開発
　声帯運動を司る反回神経の再生を、神経再生チューブや遺伝子治療・分子標的薬などを用いた動物実験などを行っている。
・頭頸部癌に対する遺伝子治療や薬物療法
　安全なセンダイウイルスを用いた頭頚部癌遺伝子治療、腫瘍溶解性ウイルス治療、分子標的薬や漢方薬などを用いた腫瘍抑制治療、転移抑制治療や支持療法などの基礎研究を行っている。
・センチネルリンパ節の新しいトレーサーの開発
